Sunday Shorts: Spring and Star Wars

Hello there!  Sometimes I get so wrapped up with deadlines and cooking and reviewing that I forget to put a little of myself up in here! Sunday Shorts were meant to be posted every Sunday, but I can’t seem to make the deadline, so I choose to just throw down a “Sunday Shorts” post whenever I can.  I’ve figured out, I put too much pressure on myself with deadlines with personal Internet commitments,  I’m actually less productive because it stresses me out too much and zaps the fun out of it and I look for ways to avoid the stress. Is anybody else like this?

Elsa Anna Cinderella

The girls got to meet Elsa and Anna from Frozen and Cinderella from …. um, Cinderella at the mall the other day.  I assumed the line might be as long as it takes to see Santa sometimes.  Like 45 mins or so?  Nope!  2 1/2 hours!  This proves that movie Princesses are more popular than Santa these days!  But, the mall had various activities and snacks placed throughout the line, so it didn’t seem as long.

The princesses came from RoseBrooke Events here in Wentzville, MO (a suburb of St. Louis) and you can hire the characters out for parties and events. I’d love to see about doing that in the future!

Thank goodness for grandmas!  My yard is a mess because I just have no idea anything that has to do with planting and yard work (besides mowing the lawn).  She loves doing that type of thing and misses it, I think (in her new place, she doesn’t have a yard to work in) so she’s helping me and it’s giving the girls something different to do, too.  I was really good and remembered to water the flowers today. So one day down!  No flowery deaths (yet)!

Planting = Spring.  Spring= Allergies.  Is anybody else getting hit hard with these?

It’s like…

Pollen death star

I do HAVE to include the teaser trailer that was released a few days ago for the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie.  Yeah, I totally planned that allergy segue as an excuse to do it. 😉

Now, I also have to include Matthew McConaughey’s reaction to the teaser:

Now we all won’t feel so alone if emoted in the same way as he did while watching it— Not that I did or anything.

This is actually a scene from “Interstellar” that was paired up with the Star Wars teaser to make it appear like a reaction.  Pretty clever, right?weekly roundup

Hi Celeste, stress not only zaps the fun out of things, it’s an energy zapper too. Love the attitude towards trying to keep a little stress free…Keep it interesting, publish those ‘Sunday Shorts’ any day but Sunday!

The only plants I have any luck with are cacti, which is probably because they thrive on neglect and love the heat we get here…My husband would throw a right strop if I were to mow the lawn! It’s what men of a certain age do to make them feel manly!…The funny thing is the only mowable grassy bit in our garden is tiny.

I am the only one in our house not to really suffer from spring allergies. Have you tried nasal irrigation? Works great if you don’t mind having saline squirted up your nose.

It’s really everybody else but me that suffers from allergies in the house, but I feel like I do because I’m around the symptoms all the time! My daughters wouldn’t go for the saline squirt. I’ve tried and it’s too hard on me to try again for awhile, LOL.

I’m trying my best to keep these plants from dying. I’m terrible with plants and for awhile I would try stuff like cacti, but my cat would STILL eat those, so I couldn’t even keep those alive either.

What would have made this complete was Princess Leia in there as one of the Disney princesses! The girls are totes adorbs and it’s just so obvious that the Disney princesses wanted to take their picture with them. It was so sweet of them to wait 2 1/2 hours just to be in a picture with your girls. :)

Your garden looks fab! My garden has weeds and dandelions…but my daughter loves dandelions so that was a no brainer for me to do absolutely nothing with my garden.

Yeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I squealed just like that when I saw this trailer. Haha, good ol Matthew McConaughey!

Obi Obi on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all! LOL!

    Great post, guurrrll!

I’m glad that people are bringing movies to life. Just having the spirit to greet kids and show them that princesses are kind and loving teaches kids to act the same way. Thanks for sharing!
Too bad the line wasn’t shorter though, lol.
