I’m excited to host a giveaway of some YUMMY goodies from Savannah Bee Company, but first, since my blog deals with beauty, they were kind enough to send me bath and body items to review, so I’m going to get to that!
Off the bat, I’m going to mention that I found these to be high quality, luxury body care items–ones that I’d personally enjoy receiving for Valentines Day, so I’d definitely recommend scooping up a set for someone special if you’re still on the hunt!
Here are some gift sets boxed up really nicely, especially for Valentine’s Day!
Before I start talking about the body care products, I just want to say that researching this company reeeeally made me want to visit their store. Savannah Bee Company isn’t just an online marketplace to buy honey. There are actual physical shops where it looks like you can taste varieties of artisan honey (that Savannah Bee Co. harvested from the bees themselves) along with wine, plus there’s a huge luxurious skincare section and they sell gourmet treats. But the stores are all in Georgia and South Carolina :(. I will definitely have to make an effort to stop in if I ever head down that way! In the meantime, I will have to be content with shopping online.
The gift set I received to review was the Goodness All Over Valentines Gift Set and before I opened it, I took a moment to admire the box presentation. I love “little touches” when it comes to gifts because they make every part of opening them feel special.
Sometimes with gift sets, you receive trial-sized versions of the original products, but not in this case. Everything was full-sized which makes for quite a heavy-duty box. This first glance at the full-sized goodies made me feel pampered before even trying any of it on, to be honest.
Savannah Bee Royal Jelly Body Butter – I thought this packaging was perfect. When I think of “Body Butter”, I feel like it’s something that’s soft and luxurious. Nothing kills that feeling quicker than having to unscrew a cheap plastic container. Since the name is “Royal Jelly”, I felt like the image they were going for was a pampering jelly jar.
The definition of what Royal Jelly actually is, is quite interesting. Basically it’s the nutrition-packed food that all baby honeybees are fed during the first few days of their lives. The reason this is called ROYAL jelly is because when the workers select their future queen bee, they fill a special cell in the honeycomb up with Royal Jelly and she spends her early days literally swimming in it. Before this process, she is identical to all the other bees, but it’s this prolonged interaction with the Royal Jelly that enables her to transform into the queen!
The consistency of this body butter actually feels a bit Jelly-ish to me initially until I rub it into my skin. It has really nice moisturizing properties and smells fantastic.
Savannah Bee Honey Body Lotion – Wow, if you love lotions that are heavily fragranced, this is the stuff. It’s not overwhelmingly fragranced, however– there’s a difference. I received the wild blackberry scent and it smells really powerful and delicious! The lotion is made with 100% all natural ingredients which is something I enjoy in skincare. My hands feel incredibly soft when I apply it and I only need a little bit.
Savannah Bee Beeswax Handcream – I’ve used Beeswax hand cream one other time from another bee skincare company, but I think I enjoy this one more because it feels a little more moisturizing after I rub it in. It smells lightly of honey and beeswax and peaches, and I’m obsessed with it! This is the first item I tested out of the box and probably my favorite.
Something else I want to show is the little gift box which I adore (The Royal Jelly’s packaging is similar):
Hazelnut Honey Praline Truffles- I didn’t eat these until I started typing this post. I figured I’d down all five (six?) of them like no big deal. WRONG. These were super-rich and I could only manage to eat two of them. I had to take a small break and then I ate one more. They are delicious, and I’m not even a fan of dark chocolate. These are truffles filled with a hazelnut chocolate puree and finished with a liquid center of winter white honey.
Again, this is the Goodness All Over Valentines Gift Set, but you can buy all these items separately too (except the truffles). I enjoyed this variety very much! It all smelled fantastically and I felt very pampered testing it. I’m keeping the Beeswax Cream and giving the others to my mom because I think she’ll enjoy them, too.
