October 2014 Wet Shave Club

I was recently introduced to the service Wet Shave Club when they kindly offered to send a box for me to review. I love subscription boxes, and usually tend to review beauty or food related ones, so trying out one specifically catered to my husband was a treat!

Outside of the Box

Outside of the Box

Wet Shave Club consists of a team of people who scour the country looking for premium blades, soaps, aftershaves and other essentials and they deliver these goodies to subscribers’ doorsteps every month in a subscription box program.

I wish I would have photographed the box without he cards on top because it really is a nice-looking presentation. It looks classy and of gift-giving quality.

Many times, subscription boxes have info cards, but this has an instructional card on how to get an awesome wet shave in 10 easy steps.

Contents:

Wet Shave Club Razor

Wet Shave Club Razor– This is super stylish and smart-looking! I love the leather pouch that it fits in for storage. All Wet Shave Club members receive a razor in their first box.

Astra Superior Platinum

Astra Superior Platinum Blades– Five double edge blades.

Gillette Silver Blue Blades

The Legends London

The Legends London

The Legends London Alum Matchsticks After Shave Astringent– I am pretty clueless when it comes to knowledge about men’s shaving,  so I wasn’t sure what they were for. My husband has to shave every day and usually does the tearing-off-bits-of-tissue-and-sticking-them-all-over-his-face thing when he gets razor burn. However, what you do with these is tear off a matchstick, wet the tip and apply directly to the skin and it’s supposed to soothe the skin and close the pores, and I believe it stops the bleeding.  That’s pretty cool!

Forge and Foundry Peppermint Saving Soap

Forge and Foundry Lavender Bergamot

Forge and Foundry Lavender Bergamot Shaving Soap

Forge and Foundry Shaving Soaps– These shaving soaps made opening the box smell REALLY good.  My husband actually has never used shaving soaps before– just shaving gels, creams, or lotions, so this is a first for him!

Wet Shave Club Brush

Wet Shave Club Brush

Wet Shave Club Brush– Here’s the other item you just receive in your first box– The brush that creates a nice lather when you shave.  I am going to guess that since you don’t receive this in your subsequent boxes, there will be something to replace it?  If you’re a Wet Shave Club member, maybe you can fill me in.  I searched around the ‘net and I’ve seen some boxes that receive aftershave in them, too.

If you’re interested in Wet Shave Club, you can click here if you’d like! A subscription to Wet Shave Club is $29/month or if you purchase a year’s subscription up front, the cost is $19/month.

What do you think of Wet Shave Club?  I think it could make a nice gift for a boss, teacher, relative or an “initiation to the man-club” for a teen who is just starting out shaving.
