In case you aren’t familiar, Birchbox is a subscription box service where you receive 4-6 beauty and lifestyle samples delivered to your mailbox every month. Boxes usually consist of samples, deluxe samples, and sometimes full-sized products. (To view my past Birchbox reviews, click here.)
One of the perks of being a Birchbox subscriber is their awesome reward point system. Every 100 points you receive equals $10 you can spend in the Birchbox shop on full-sized products. Points expire within a year being issued, so you can save them up, but not for forever!
One way to receive reward points is to review the samples you receive in your Birchbox. For each review you submit, you receive 10 Birchbox points. So, for instance, I received 5 products this month. That is 50 points I’ll be receiving just for reviews which equals $5. So as you can see, they’re really easy to accumulate.
A few other ways to receive points: If you sign up for a 3,6, or 12 month subscription, if you refer friends to subscribe, or by shopping in the Birchbox shop.
Every month, Birchbox has a box theme. This month’s theme is “FanFare” which speaks to the fall season coming up and being obsessed with our favorite TV shows. They included a little card that subscribers could fill out and post on social media to be entered into a Birchbox contest. I filled in “Cardinals Baseball” because I’m in St. Louis and it’s October… post season baseball!
BeeKind Body Lotion ($2.10)- This lotion has a pleasant fragrance that I usually gravitate towards– like a lemon-honey flavor.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner ($11.25)- I still break out a couple times a month so I’m excited to try this mask out. The directions say to apply to areas of concern, leave on for 5-10 minutes until dry and product turns blue and then rinse. A nice sample size!
Harvey Prince Petaly Noir ($2)- I don’t know what the deal is, but I can’t seem to find a Harvey Prince fragrance that works with my body chemistry. I’ve tried 3 of them so far. For this, it’s the vanilla that does me in. I’m just not a huge fan of vanilla. However, for reference, the notes in here are: floral, woody, and oriental.
Lord & Berry Paillettes Glitter Eye Pencil ($4.50)- Unfortunately my eyes are a little sensitive to products with glitter in them, so I didn’t attempt to try this, but I could see it being fun for a night out.
ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick in Kitty ($8)- We got to choose from an assortment of 3 different products for our final sample this month. I picked this lipstick which is a semi-matte soft pink shade. I love receiving full-sized products in Birchbox!
After totaling everything up this month, it comes to $27.85. If I factor in the $5 (in points) I receive for reviewing the products on the site, it comes to $32.85.
I think the things I’m most excited to try this month are Dr. Brandt and the Lipstick!
If you’re interested in subscribing to Birchbox, it’s $10/month and you can click here to learn more if you’d like!
