Nanny

Yayyy!!!

Okay. That was scary.

ANYWAY, if this is your first time hearing about the Mommy Reality Challenge we are so glad you are joining this great community of moms who participate in our bi-weekly challenges that showcase all the fun, crazy, and sometimes overwhelming moments that are in every mom’s life!

Please don’t just read. This is an INTERACTIVE post! Come join in all the fun!

The Rules are Simple!

        1. We will announce the theme.
        2. You will write a post or take a pic, post it to the social media account of your choice with the hashtag #mommyreality and then link it up to this blog post!
        3. Then in two weeks, we will announce our favorites and award a meme to the winner. The winner can then co-host the next challenge with us!

Just a little background on how our challenges are selected- Jen and Celeste take turns writing the post and creating the winning meme from the last challenge.

This week it’s Celeste’s turn! W to the 00T! W00t!

cat dance

For the last challenge, Jen asked us to share what was beside our beds in and on our bedside tables. We saw books, cups, and even a receipt for the cat vet! Surprisingly, we saw NO unmentionables! Maybe that’s why some of you who are regulars didn’t participate this week–  because you had something to hide from us!

(J/K… that’s probably not true.  Only Jen and I will just assume that’s why, no worries.)

The winner of Mommy Reality Challenge 33: Bedside Table Treasure Hunt is…

Echo from Domain of the Mad Mommy!

Echo posted her bedside table via Instagram and moms everywhere collectively shouted, “WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT?!”

brew meme

Wow, Echo makes us feel so spoiled because her caption even rocked so much that we yanked it for the meme and didn’t have to do very much work at all this week.

Our runner-up for the bedside challenge goes to… Jessie from Happy Mama Healthy Kids who’s using a box from her move as her bedside table!

Bedside box

Mommy-Reality-Jen pointed out that’s probably the best idea for a bedside table because Jessie can just pack away any junk that collects there! (And Celeste now doesn’t feel so alone in using a box as hers, either!)

Thank you to all of the participants of this challenge and special thanks to our fabulous co-host Jennifer from The Deliberate Mom who did an awesome job!

You can check out all of the other Mommy Reality memes on on our tumblr page.

Now It’s time for a NEW Mommy Reality Challenge and Co-host!

Mommy Reality 34’s theme is…. If I Had One More Hour!

Hello! It’s Celeste again! As you know, I’m writing the post this week and as you also know, the person who writes the post thinks of the new theme as well. The thing is, I’ve been SoOoO brain-dead this week and kept coming up empty for ideas! So I put a call into the wild (on my social media channels):

StumpedAnd I got some awesome ideas from my readers & social media followers.  Thank you! I feel like I’m stocked for weeks now with Mommy Reality inspiration!

The idea I chose came from Katy from Experienced Bad Mom because it really connected with how I’ve been feeling.  She says she always means to participate in the Mommy Reality Challenge but runs out of hours in the day.

Not having enough hours in one day can apply to sooo much!

For me right now?

If I had One more Hour

My girls clothing situation is getting out of control because I haven’t kept up with it. I’ve got winter mixed with spring and summer in about 4 different sizes jammed into their closets, dressers and in baskets. I REALLY need to sort through these and figure out what fits them, what I need to take to the consignment shop, and what essentials I need to buy them. I’ll be honest, they just keep growing, so I just keep jamming clothing the next size up in there without taking out the smaller ones. I even ran out of hangers and had to buy more when I KNOW that I’d have some to spare if I would take some of the clothing they’ve grown out of out of their closets.

See, I’m a mess.  I feel like if I had an extra hour every night, I could tackle this and get it organized in a few days.

Now It’s your turn to share!

clock

If you had an extra hour a day, what would you do with it?

You have 2 weeks to complete this challenge!

But DON’T Take 2 weeks, because we are on pins and needles here!

You can share the pic in a post or on your favorite social media outlet.

If only I could turn back time…this challenge got that song by Aqua stuck in my head.

Gotta love Costanza eating a sandwich in bed and even better Data smacking Beverly. LOL!

Given an extra hour, I would cuddle more with my S.O.

    Good challenge, girlie!

  2. Jessica says:

Yay for runner-up status! Thanks so much for the shout-out, glad to make you feel you’re not alone (you never are in mommy-land!). And that Data and Beverly gif – WHAT!!? Lol, I can’t wait to participate in this round! Great theme!!

  3. Jen says:

All hail Queen Celeste for her superior ability in finding the funniest gifs and making awesome memes!

I hear you on the never ending kids clothing drah-ma (putting on my Fran)! That is one of my least favorite mommy chores. My poor kid was wearing shirts that if she lifted her arm a teensy bit her belly button would show. She finally asked if it would be OK if she could please have clothes that fit her. Sheesh, mom guilt! That night I was pulling out the next set of clothes and yanking the old ones out to pass onto her sister! It took hours! Good luck my friend1

    • Celeste says:

I have to give Echo credit for the meme this time! I just slapped her premade caption onto the photo!

Nice Fran impression. I could hear it all the way through my screen *shutter*. Yes, that’s exactly what’s going on here with the arm lifting and the high-watering! Bad Mama! :(

  4. Echo says:

I seriously love my meme so much! I had to stop by to look at it again! :p

  5. Hi Celeste, not a great ay to have to spend a much needed extra hour! I remember, oh so well, having piles of winter and summer clothes all mixed together and not knowing what would fit (I hated it!). It’s one of those jobs that no sooner is it done, it seems to have to be done again…Rather you than me!

Now they are old enough to sort their own out and if they don’t it’s their own fault if they have no summer/winter clothes that fit.

  6. Julie says:

    Hi Celeste,
Yes, clean out the kids closets and clothes is a good one! I need to do that with my daughters room and it’s hard when you have a teenager as they are so busy all the time and something we have to do together! My challenge is cleaning out my pots & pans in my kitchen as that cabinet gets messed up due to me cooking so much. Thanks for the fun challenge. Enjoy your day and the rest of the week.
    Julie xo

  7. Lysa says:

    Hi Celeste,

Now don’t go passing out on me because I’m participating in two #mommyreality challenges in a row and this time it’s not at the last, last minute either… Miracles truly do exist! LOL 😉 I absolutely LOVE the Big Comfy Couch’s “Clock Stretch” GIF this week. My 18 year old daughter Jaynee and i use to watch that show EVERY day and do the clock stretch together when she was little! I need more than one extra hour each day but an hour would definitely help! Thanks for hosting my favorite linky party! I’m thrilled I was able to participate again this week! Wishing you a Happy Hump Day!

    Much love,
    Lysa s

    • Celeste says:

I was so thrilled that you participated!! I’m holding back from hyper-ventilating ;). I would watch that show with my little sister and I forgot all about it :)

  8. Amy Lou says:

I’m super sad that I have now missed two challenges… :( I’ve had TOO much going on lately so I checked out from my blogging world for a bit! Should be back to participate in the current challenge though! Especially since I feel like I got called out with that comment about some people skipping this challenge for a certain reason! LOL! Don’t worry though my nightstand is super boring since it is home of all of the random headphones, batteries, and other electronics only used occasionally. But since I’m staying at my Mom’s right now instead of my own house I didn’t have a photo of mine anyway, and the bedroom we stay in at Mom’s doesn’t even have a nightstand! Lol! So my post would have been rather boring anyway! I’m excited to have time to join in again though soon! 😀

    • Celeste says:

Oh my gosh… I wasn’t calling you out at ALL :), Please don’t worry. I actually wasn’t calling anybody out. I just wanted a chance to use that George Costanza gif…hahaha.
