I’ve come to enjoy the little bright spot in the month where I receive my “Love with Food” box. It’s a fun little treat to open at an awesome price point.
Without further ado, here is my June 2014 Love with Food review!
**Oh, and stay tuned-in because at the bottom of this post I will tell you how to get your own box FREE and you’ll also be able to help out a great cause at the same time!**
In case you aren’t familiar, Love with Food is a monthly subscription box company that delivers organic, all-natural, hard-to-find gourmet snacks.
For every box sold, Love with Food donates a meal to several food banks to help combat childhood hunger, such as the Feeding America Network and Share Our Strength – No Kid Hungry.
Each month, Love with Food subscribers receive a box curated to a specific theme usually with 8 or more snacks. The June box theme this month was “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”. The information card explains that this month’s box is full of healthy snacks that are sure to be a home run.
Love with Food has a reward point system. One way you can receive reward points is to review the snacks you received in your monthly box. You can redeem your points to purchase snacks in the Love with Food website shop. (I just redeemed some of mine a couple months ago as you can see in this post)
Pineapple, Raspberry and Mango Fruit Snacks by YumEarth Organics– My girls enjoyed splitting these very much! Real fruit snacks with real fruit extracts. Very yummy and hit the spot.
Tree Hugger Gum Ball– There was only one of these, so I naturally thought the fair thing to do would be to grab it for myself since it was impossible to share ;). I don’t think I’ve had a more flexible soft gum ball in my life. I’m not a huge gum chewer these days because of TMJ but most of my experiences with gum in the ball form is that it’s hard or crumbly or stale-tasting. Not in this case!
Cheddar Baked Fries by Snikiddy– I had two box faves this month and this was one of them. I love cheese fries, but these are baked so half the fat of traditional fried snacks and they tasted like smoked cheddar. REALLY good!
Snap Back Cookie by The Cookie Department– I thought this was interesting because it’s a detox cookie that’s designed to “snap you back to life”. I tried a little bite, but saved the rest for my husband because he’s a big ginger cookie fan. This had a tiny cayenne pepper after-taste that I found really interesting!
Chicago Mix by GH Cretors– I’m not a huge fan of caramel popcorn I’ve come to realize, but this was a caramel cheese and caramel MIX that I found really high-quality and gourmet tasting. Super delish.
Montmorency Cherries by Stoneridge Orchards– Second box fave! These dried cherries were the sweet and tart treats that I needed and they hit the SPOT. I will definitely buy more of these. Lucky for me, they also slipped a $1 off coupon in the box!
Good for You Granola, Almond Butter & Jelly Sandwich by Jolly Oak– I sure have been getting lots and lots of granola in my boxes lately! The difference with this one is that it has a unique flavor which is “Almond Butter & Jelly” sandwich.
Chocolate Cookies by Dulcetto– So, these were different and VERY delicious! From appearances, I thought these would have the consistency of fortune cookies, but these cookies actually have a light flaky outside with a creamy milk chocolate center.
I enjoyed this box very much! I would like to see a little more balance between the salty and sweet snacks, but because the portions are so generous for the inexpensive price compared to many subscription boxes out there ($12/month), I feel petty even bringing that up. Thus, Love with Food continues to be one of my favorite treats I receive in the mail each month!
So, here is a special announcement (Free Box Offer)!
I mentioned above in this post how Love with Food donates a meal to food banks for every box sold, right? Well, for the month of July, Love with Food is teaming up with a like-minded company “2-Degrees Food” who has been donating a meal for each food bar they sell. This means that in July, Love with Food and “2-degrees Food” will be donating TWO meals for every box sold.
Here’s where you come in, if you’re not already a subscriber, you can sign up to get your July box FREE (just pay $2 shipping) AND that will also count towards helping this great cause. (I *believe* it also takes $10 off a deluxe-size box which will, in turn, donate 4 meals). Just click this link and sign up. This free box offer is only good until 6/30. And at the end of the month if you wish to stop receiving, you’ll need to cancel, but you may find it beneficial to keep it!
Are you a Love with Food subscriber, yet? What were your box faves?
