July’s Birchbox came right on time! I tried not to spoil what I was getting by looking online, so I was surprised to see they teamed up with Women’s Health.
In case you aren’t familiar, Birchbox is a subscription box service where you receive 4-6 beauty and lifestyle samples delivered to your mailbox every month. Boxes usually consist of samples, deluxe samples, and sometimes full-sized products. (To view my past Birchbox reviews, click here.)
One of the perks of being a Birchbox subscriber is their awesome reward point system. Every 100 points you receive equals $10 you can spend in the Birchbox shop on full-sized products. Points expire within a year being issued, so you can save them up, but not for forever!
One way to receive reward points is to review the samples you receive in your Birchbox. For each review you submit, you receive 10 Birchbox points. So, for instance, I received 5 products this month. That is 50 points I’ll be receiving just for reviews which equals $5. So as you can see, they’re really easy to accumulate.
A few other ways to receive points: If you sign up for a 3,6, or 12 month subscription, if you refer friends to subscribe, or by shopping in the Birchbox shop.
Included in this month’s box is a little booklet called “Power Up: 12 bit-sized challenges”. Each page contains a challenge for you to try, tips designed to help you with the challenge, and a little check box to tick off if you’ve completed it. One challenge example: Log 10 minutes of outdoor time daily.
Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain ($9.32)- Man, am I getting loaded up with Cynthia Rowley stuff lately! No, that’s not me complaining whatsoever! But if you’ve been reading, I just recently received a Cynthia Rowley-STUFFED box (See review here). Sugar, a nude-pink was my favorite shade out of the lip stains, and this is a miniature version of that.
Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk ($6.45)- Designed to absorb greases and put bounce back into second-day hair, I found this worked quite nicely. I have extremely thick, but I think I can get another application out of this sample size. Took the oily feeing out of my hair and it smells nice!
Marcelle New-Age 8 in 1 Power Serum ($8.16)- The sample size of skincare moisturizers and serums is never really large enough to make an informed review, however this boats that you can feel results in just one week! I don’t think I can eek a week out of this one tube, however I wanted to mention that this serum left my face feeling super soft when I used it one time. It’s designed to amp up collagen production leaving skin looking more youthful and rejuvenated.
NAOBAY Body Radiance Lotion ($3) – Man, this lotion smells amazing. Like a Lemon Verbena fragrance which is right up my ally. So, this is an all natural and organic lotion with olive and avocado oils and well as shea butter and Aloe Vera.
–Ahhh… I swear I’m such a sucker for this fragrance. I keep stopping my typing to sniff my hands! This is my first time trying it out, right this second! So while I can’t tell if my body looks any more radiant yet, I’m looking forward to trying out more!
100% Pure Gingerade Shower Gel (.16)- These were a “Beauty Extra” which means they were included in addition to my regular samples. They were okay. It’s just my person preference that I like to get a lather in the shower and they didn’t lather so much. Pleasant fragrance.
And then a little extra something was included in this months box: A one-year subscription to Women’s Health Magazine. I still enjoy reading magazines, so I’ll be taking advantage of this and mailing the card in.
Box Fave? Probably the Lotion and Dry Shampoo= tie!
After adding up everything I received, my total ended up being: $27.09. If I factor in the extra $5 I receive for reviewing these items, my total comes up to: $32.09.
If you’re interested in subscribing to Birchbox, it’s $10/month and you can click here to learn more if you’d like!
