In case you aren’t familiar, Beauty Box 5 is a subscription box program which features 4-5 sample or full-sized beauty products. The samples can range from drug store to higher-end and may consist of a variety of fragrances, cosmetics, skincare, hair care or body care.
With some subscription boxes, the initial opening is a little on the disappointing side because there’s a lot of extra room left in the box. With Beauty Box 5, I’ve noticed that they seem to pack every square inch of their petite boxes full which makes for an exciting first-opening!
The theme for July’s box is “Defining Moments”. BB5 sets out to celebrate the moments that make us amazing whether it’s major milestones like graduating college or minor victories like finding that perfect mascara.
As usual, BeautyBox5 lists all the items received on their information card. I love how they also list the prices and weights. It saves me time for looking up the price break-down!
Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara ($7.99)- This I shall pass on to my mom! Right now I have quite a stash of mascara and since mascara has a maximum shelf-life of 3 months after being opened, I just can’t justify opening another one. I usually do a brown/black anyway, and this color is blackest black which she wears, so I’m sure she’ll be happy.
HASK Argan Oil Intense Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment ($2.49)- Ah, this is great… I can’t wait to try it! My hair is super thick, but I think there may actually be enough in this packet to give me two uses which barely EVER happens with hair stuff, so I’m pretty excited.
Body Drench Candy Licious Lips ($3.99)-I’m such a lip balm junkie, so I was glad to see this! I received the Red Licorice flavor. I’ve seen some other Beauty Box 5 reviews that had a couple different flavors of this brand instead, such as Grape Lolli and Peppermint Stick.
Simyskin Anti-aging Eye Serum ($11.90)- This came at the perfect time. I think I’m getting a bit of a cold and this eye serum works to reduce eye puffiness. It contains vitamin b12, folic acid and nanomedicine and also helps to diminish wrinkles and regenerate skin cells. The one I received is for ages 25-45. They also have 18-25 and 45+ various.
H2O Plus Aqualibrium Marine Cleansing Gel ($1.22)- I received this in a Birchbox, I think, a few months ago and really like it! It applies kind of like a jelly and makes my face feel a little cool when applying. It’s a gentle cleanser, but definitely gets the job done!
So after totaling everything up, I figured this box’s worth is around: $27.59 which is over double the monthly subscription price of $12/month.
For a limited time, you can get a Beauty Box 5 box for 1/2 off the cost (so, around $6 with free shipping!), just click here and use the code HALFOFF to activate that special! If you choose not to keep your subscription at the end of the month, you’ll need to cancel, but you may find it beneficial to keep it!
I’m actually really bummed that my three month gift subscription is over! I was more than pleased with the variety of samples that were given to me, and, many times, more impressed than Birchbox at the sizes of samples. I rarely received any little tiny foil packets and NO tea :). Birchbox is still near and dear to me, so that won’t ever replaced, but I’m seriously considering continuing with BB5 because I enjoyed it so much!
