Happy September! Kids are back in school and there is much to be celebrated food-wise this month! Here’s a look at what I received in this month’s Hormel Cooler.(To read my past recipes and unboxings, you can go here)
Hormel Compleats (Spaghetti & Meat Sauce)– September is known as “Better Breakfast Month”. These Hormel Compleats come in a variety of dinners and breakfasts. So many people tend to skip breakfast and it’s mostly because they run out of time. These come in pretty handy to just quickly heat up and eat.
Skippy Peanut Butter Spread with Salted Caramel– September 13th is National Peanut Day. This peanut butter is a ~limited edition~ and I got a recipe suggestion that says to coat bananas with it and stick them in the freezer which sounds delicious!
Herdez Mexican Cooking Sauces (Red Guajillo Chile)– September 16th is Mexican Independence Day, so I received a couple Mexican food related items in my bundle this month. This sauce is pretty good. I used it to mix in with some shredded chicken last month and I also added a dash into a beans and corn mixture. It’s a little spicy, so my girls didn’t care for it, but I loved it and thought it had a great flavor!
Herdez Salsa– This salsa is delicious! It’s got a great consistency (I hate when salsa is too thick) and an awesome flavor.
Hormel Real Crumbled Bacon– Okay, so we’re coming up on fall which means… Pumpkin everything! I received a recipe suggestion for Bacon Pumpkin Bars and I’m just so curious about this that I’m going to have to try them I think. They can’t possibly be good right? Or, I guess bacon makes everything good, so by rule, they have to be!
So, this was September’s box! I have a lot of good recipe ideas, but as always, I’m always looking for more inspiration, if you have any for me, please mention in a comments!
