Sunday Shorts: Wedding Dresses, Han Solo, and Instagramming Food

Happy New Year, everybody! I hope you had the most fabulous time celebrating NYE in the hippest possible way you could muster!

celebrating gifThis winter is not being very kind illness-wise to me as I’m sick again… *womp womp*.  My girls have made out okay, though unlike last winter, so I’m grateful about that!

Without further ado…

Wedding planning is in full swing with my sister Monica. (To view the other posts about her wedding plans and proposal, click here and here)

Last week we went to 2 different wedding dress venues- well, she went to 3. I was feeling all out of sorts for the 3rd, so I had to cancel. We went to the following: David’s Bridal, Boulevard Bride, and Bella Bride. She’s seen a few dresses that she’s liked, but none that she’s quite had a “Say Yes To The Dress” moment.  I’m not positive what that means because I’m not romantic and wedding savvy, but I think it’s from a reality show.

Monica is taking a traditional route with her wedding, so when I texted her asking if I was allowed to post pics of her with the dresses she’s tried on, she texted me back with an answer which was:

So we compromised 😉

A few days ago, I saw buzz started circulating about a possible Star Wars spin-0ff TV show with Aaron Paul playing a young Han Solo. This is a loose rumor that I doubt will come into fruition, but I love Star Wars, love Harrison Ford, love Breaking Bad, loved Aaron Paul in it, so I know I’ll end up giving it a try and I have no idea why because these types of shows never are my cup of tea.  Tried Smallville: Nope.  Tried Gotham: Nope.  Others, too that I’ve forgotten, I’m sure.  Oh!  Remember Young Indiana Jones? So terrible.

So, I’m HOPING they’ll leave well enough alone.  We will see.

Okay, tbh, I have no idea if I’m ever going to Instagram my food again, which sucks because Instagramming yummy food is so fun for me, for some reason. I think I just enjoy remembering what I ate if it looked pretty.

I’ll show you the reason why I’ll probably retire from this.

I was on a date with my friend Jenn last week and she took this shot and posted it on Facebook:

OMG… It’s ridiculous how totally absurd I look all by myself photographing my fish tacos!

And look how excited I am!  Good lord, it really doesn’t take much to amuse me.weekly roundup

Very neat compromise for your sisters dress photo lol

  2. Echo says:

Winter viruses are meanies! Also, Aaron Paul may be able to pull off a young Han, but it wouldn’t be the same if he wasn’t saying, “b*&$h or yo” all the time. Please don’t stop Instagraming your food! I do it to and my husband giggles at me EVERY time I do it. If the food looks good, I have to share!

    • Celeste says:

I could not have worded the Aaron Paul sentiment any better than you just did, Echo. I was trying to think of a way to include “yo b&t$h” into the post, but realized I was running a mommy blog here, LOL.

I’ll probably still do it. At least I’m not the only one getting giggled at 😉

  3. Jen says:

Haha!! That look is priceless! How can you deny yourself such pleasure? I say keep taking the photos!

  4. Judith says:

You look totes adorbs in that pic of you taking a picture of your fish tacos…never stop the instagramming of your food. Everyone should be as happy as you are in that moment!

  5. Melissa says:

I love the snowman over the wedding dress! I’ve never seen ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ either but it’s a catchy title. Hope you feel better soon.

    • Celeste says:

Thanks, Melissa! I’m not one to complain about being sick, but to get 2x while the girls were on winter break… yeesh!

The snowman over the wedding dress I figured my sister would go for 😉
