If you’ve “liked” my Facebook page, you may have noticed that I posted a little “Heads Up” that Target had released its Target beauty boxes, recently.
These boxes are filled with luxe samples to full-sized beauty, skincare, and haircare products and are worth way more than the purchase price. The price you see is the ONLY price you pay because shipping is free.
Unlike most subscription boxes, Target Beauty boxes aren’t released monthly and are so wildly popular that they usually sell out within a matter of hours. My box arrived about a week after I ordered it.
I ordered the Beauty Box Naturals and, although I already knew what was in the box from the website photos, I was under the impression that the samples wouldn’t be so big! The box was heavy!
Unlike most subscription boxes, the contents Target Beauty Boxes aren’t a surprise. You know what you’re getting because they’re listed on the website. Additionally, Target includes an information booklet listing the items inside your box.
SoapBox Argan Shampoo ($3)- I have used this shampoo a couple times since receiving and it’s decent. While it hasn’t really “Wow’d” me, it’s left my hair with a really clean feeling and it smells really pleasant. I’d like to pair it with a matching conditioner to firm up my opinion!
Skinfix Hand Repair Cream ($8.99)- I tried a little of this and you really don’t need very much because it’s a really rich formula and I love it. It says it’s perfect for dry cracked skin and eczema, so this is a really good winter go-to-cream.
Burt’s Bees Facial Wipes ($3)- These are something I’ll be tossing in my purse. Every once in awhile, I’ll stay the night with my girls at my girlfriend’s house and it’s too big of a pain to lug around bottles of face cleanser just for that.
SheaMoisture Coconut Hibiscus Smoothie ($2.50)- Oh gosh… this smells so goooood! This is an anti-Frizz, Moisture and shine smoothing cream for thick, curly hair which is my daughter Delia and my hair type. Most of the time, I wear my hair straight, but this smells so heavenly (I’m not joking about that word usage) that I may have to style it curly just to use the product so I can walk around smelling myself all day. This bottle is huge and is going to last me ages!
Borghese Age Defying Facial Scrub ($3.80)- This was okay. I’ve only used it once, so sometimes it’s hard for me to form an opinion on skincare after just that amount of time. Applying it felt a little soapy-consistency to me and I prefer more pasty or gel consistencies. Just my personal preference. The after effect didn’t feel drying like soap, however. Since it’s a facial scrub, I really try not to use those more than 1-2 times a week, to give my skin a chance to regenerate.
Acure Organics Facial Scrub ($2.50)- I loved this facial scrub! The consistency was this ooey-gooey green exfoliating paste and it made my skin feel really soft and pampered afterwards! It’s free of all the bad stuff as well (parabens, etc). Nice sized sample that I’ll be getting lots of use out of.
Target promised that this box would have a value of $25, and the value ended up being $23.79. Pretty close, Target! But still, I only paid $5 and got it shipped free, so I’m definitely more impressed with the value of this box than I have been with many subscription boxes I’ve received! At only $5 a pop, I wish I would’ve scooped some up for my female relatives!
Did you scoop up one of Target’s Beauty boxes this time? What did you think?
I’ve been reviewing so many subscription boxes lately that I’m thinking of making separate posts to unveil coupon codes/special boxes when I hear of these announcements instead of just blasting on social media.
