At the end of last month, Conscious Box sent me one of their boxes asking if I’d do a review and host a subscription giveaway to my readers. So keep reading and we’ll get to that good stuff in a bit!
In case you aren’t familiar, with Conscious Box, every month you get a hand-picked selection of eco-friendly, natural, GMO-free goods and samples to try. To see my other review of Conscious Box, I took advantage of a Living Social deal and tried it out in May.
You can choose whether you’d like their Classic Box, a Vegan Box, or a Gluten-Free box. Additionally, when you sign up to subscribe, you can choose whether you’d like to receive the “Taster” box with 5-8 items every month or the “Plus” box which has 8-12.
Most subscription boxes have a theme, Conscious Box is no exception and the theme for September is “Sweater Weather” which is my favorite kind of weather! However, it doesn’t apply in Missouri for the most part… that’s more like October, so it’s kind of fitting that I didn’t get to review this box until now.
Every month Conscious Box provides a list detailing what’s in the box. I’ve noticed that for the most part, this list is pretty on target, but there are variations of the box, so some items listed may not be included in the box or some items that subscribers receive may not be listed in the little pamphlet.
Cobrazol: Homeopathic Pain Reliever– This is supposed to help arthritis and join pain, so I will definitely be passing it along to my mom to try. She’s always looking for some type of relief in that area.
Dr. Jacobs: Castile Soap Trio– This is really interesting to me… versatile all-natural scented soap products that can be used as a body wash, shampoo, facial cleanser, shaving lather and as a mild laundry detergent. Out of those options, I chose to use as a body wash and I loved the scents: Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Almond Honey.
Orgain: Healthy Kids Organic Nutritional Shake– Keeping with tradition, I did NOT share this with my kids. I always claim the chocolate drinks for myself. But in my defense, there’s two of them and one drink and I didn’t want anybody to feel left-out so I did the only fair thing I could think to do. But this tasted yummy and I’d consider picking some of for my girls in the future.
Papyrus: Recycled Greeting Cards– When I see cards, I immediately think of my mom because she is one of the people I know who still sends them on the regular. I’ll admit I have gotten lazy over the years with sending out birthday cards. I will still include them with gifts, however, so I’m including this in my gift wrap stash.
Spatone: Pur-absorb Iron– This is an iron supplement in drinkable form. You can drink it straight from the pack or dilute it in some juice or water.
Runa Tea: Clean Energy Original Zero Lime Sparkling Tea– I love getting drinks in subscription boxes, however energy drinks and me do not go together very well, so I passed it along to my husband. I did, however, have a sip and we both actually didn’t care for the taste of this. It tastes, like the description: carbonated tea. However, he texted me later and told me that the drink really gave him a nice pick-me-up and he feel pretty invigorated without the jitters or crashing feeling that some energy drinks provide. We also received a couple for a free bottle, so we’ll probably try it again. I might even try it this time, if that’s the case!
Treat Simple: Premium All-Natural Dog Treats– Ack! I don’t have a dog! I will be passing these along to one of my friends who does.
UAS Labs: Probiotic Kids Cubes– These are designed to fill in gaps in children’s nutrition and they provided a 4 day supply.
Weleda Skin Food– I tried the shampoo and condition from Weleda in my last Conscious Box I reviewed and was impressed so I was excited to try this sample out. Again, my first impression was a bit on the disappointed side because the sample size is so small. However, I soon discovered that you don’t need a lot of this product. I’m actually in LOVE with this stuff now (and I don’t throw around that phrase lightly when I review stuff). I haven’t used a cream this silky and rich and smooth in ages. I just went to their website and used the store locator to find out where I can buy my own and it looks like the Target across the street has it, so I’ll be picking some up! The only downside is that I wish it had a different fragrance. It’s a bit on the strong-side to me, but my skin gets so dry in the winter, I’m going to disregard that.
Ground Based Super Food Protein Smoothie– I’m drinking this right now… mixed it with some Almond milk, but you can also mix it with water. I got the milk chocolate flavor and thought my drink would be green because of the picture on the package, but fortunately, it was brown. I don’t know how I’d feel trying to convince myself I was drinking a chocolate drink if the color was off ;).
Love for Humanity Organics Anti-Aging Eye Serum– This is supposed to help reduce wrinkles and puffiness and the signs of premature aging. Another product I love receiving in subscription boxes is eye creams. You only need a little, so the samples usually go a long way.
Kool ‘N Fit Sport Performance Spray– I’m not sure if I’ll use this, but I’ll pass it along to someone who will!
So that was my Conscious Box this month! I tried the “Classic” box, and they also have a Vegan Box and a Gluten-Free Box option.
