WOWZA. This is the biggest subscription box I’ve tried to date. The box is called Urthbox, and it’s a subscription box service that delivers full sized healthy snacks monthly to your door. Urthbox is shipped the 15th of every month via USPS.
Urthbox comes in a variety of sizes and options. You can choose from the following types of boxes: Classic, Gluten-Free, Vegan or Diet, and from the following sizes:
- Discovery Box- Mini; 6+ products/month: $9
- Part-time Snacker- Small; 12+ products/ month: $17
- Happy Snacker- Medium; 17+ products/month: $27
- Group Snacker- Large; 24+ products/ month: $37
The box I believe I received was the “Group Snacker” and it was ginormous! In the pic above, you can see I put a ruler next to it to show the size. The box was over a foot long!
I noticed that Urthbox didn’t include an information card detailing what was in the box. But on the back of the card, it does show a reward system:
Alive and Radiant Quite Cheezy Kale Krunch– This is pretty tasty for a Kale snack and it’s dairy free. I’m not sure how they got it to taste like cheese, but it definitely does which helps because I wasn’t positive how I would enjoy snacking on kale. I’m still working on my first bag because it’s not something I can just go to town on in just one sitting.
Cheezy Dipperz– Oh gosh, I love healthy snacks, but for the first time, this is a snack out of a subscription box that I didn’t didn’t care for. The texture is pretty hard and my teeth are pretty sensitive and the after taste was pretty bitter to me. I couldn’t get on board. I really wished I could, though, but these are not for me. I am sharing this box with my mom who is really into healthy snacks and maybe she will enjoy them!
Chick-a-Peas Sweet Crunchy Chickpeas Sweet BBQ flavor– Yeah, I dig these! They definitely fulfill my “crunch” cravings. Quite a lot comes in the little packets and the texture isn’t quite as easy to crunch as peanuts, so these snacks will last me a nice amount of time.
Coco Libre Organic Coconut Water with pineapple– This was a win! Drinks in subscription boxes are usually favorites of mine.
Dakota Style Dill Pickle Kettle Chips– These almost didn’t seem like they belonged in the box– like they weren’t healthy enough or something, but they were delicious! I love pickles and kettle chips and these were really flavorful and awesome and crunchy. The taste was reminiscent of salt and vinegar chips which are a favorite of mine.
Fuel for Fire Triple Berry Smoothie– Oh, these were good! They tasted like smoothies with protein in them. Definitely one of my box faves!
Got Milk? Magic Straws: Cookies n Cream– We aren’t huge milk drinkers, besides what we put in our cereal, so we gave these to a friend of my daughter’s to enjoy!
Betty Lou’s Just Great Stuff Organic Superberry Acai Bar- I loved these fruit bars! They tasted like a natural fruit roll-up, so, it satisfied my sweet tooth! I’d buy these if I saw them on the shelf next to the register. (Seriously, why don’t more mass stores do this instead of chocolate bars?)
Lesser Evil Super 4 Kale and Roasted Garlic– Mmm, these were good! They tasted unique and had a fun shape and great crunch to them. Definitely one of my favorites out of the crunchy snacks. The after taste was nice and garlicky. It’s probably a snack I’d actually purchase if I saw it on the shelves at the store, as well.
Marlo’s Bake Shop Banana Bread– Definitely tasted like banana bread. I thought the texture was going to be like bread, but it was more like a biscotti. It was good! Would go well with ice cream or coffee!
Mr. Popular Nourish Snacks– These are another type of healthy snacks that I feel would satisfy me instead of reaching into a bag of chips because the consistency would tide me over. They remind me of the nearly cooked pieces of popcorn— the kernels.
Organico Raw Kale Chips– I wasn’t sure what to do with these, to be honest. I am mostly used to drinking kale, not snacking on it. I don’t know if I was supposed to directly eat these, or mix them into something. When I tried eating them plain, I kept getting thrown off because it didn’t feel like snack food. Maybe if I tried in a different flavor like the cheesy kale chips above.
Terra Nut Pnut Punch– It’s hard to explain what these are… It’s like peanut butter powder pressed together into a hard little bar. I didn’t realize this and was eating it in bed and was trying to get a handle on the consistency and texture. I squeezed it a little too hard in my fingers demolishing it all over my covers, LOL. So be mindful of this if you ever decide to try one of these. And if you’re eating it in bed.
Pretzel Perfection Sea Salted Caramel Clusters– I don’t usually care for pretzels, but found these to be good. The salty caramel helps sweeten up the dark chocolate and makes it a really tasty snack!
Pretzel Perfection- Lemon Toffee Pretzel Sticks– Again, I don’t usually care for pretzels, but maybe it’s just because I don’t like them plain. These are something I might actually consider buying off the shelves if I saw them at the store. Lemon toffee is an interesting and delicious combination!
Savory Bacon Dakota Style Sunflower Kernels– Probably my box fave! I love sunflower seeds– as long as I don’t have to pull them out of their shell and these were delicious. You get quite a bit in each bag and they’re a very satisfying snack. In fact, I’m snacking on them right now as I write up this review!
Organico Go Nutty Cashews Sesame- Another subtly delicious snack! They were a sesame cashew cluster snack with agave, maple syrup, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
I have to say I love looking on the back of all these snacks and recognizing nearly all the ingredients. It gives me peace of mind that I’m snacking healthy. I feel like this would be a box that would be awesome to get for an office setting or maybe the smaller size as a gift for a friend or a mom (who is the person I’m sharing this box with!)
