Skippy PB Bites Snack #HormelFamily

skippy

Just a little post to showcase the girls and my latest snack addiction: Skippy PB Bites.  I’m a fan because they’re an easy treat and the girls enjoy how they’re different and fun-shaped.

Skippy PB Balls

Skippy P.B. Bites come in two flavors: Double Peanut Butter and Pretzel.  The ones in this post are Pretzel and they’re perfect because we snacked on the regular peanut butter ones with pretzels anyway.

Biscotti and Kate Mack: Ultra-chic Outfits for Young Fashionistas Coupon

I’m not sure if this happens to you or not, but nearly every year, my daughters’ holiday dresses have matched with other little girls’ dresses at church or other holiday events.  I’ve actually come to expect it because I suppose we’re all pulling from the same pool of clothing shops which has a limited holiday selection, so it’s pretty much bound to happen. While it’s not really a HUGE deal that this happens, I’ve been looking around at holiday dresses that are fashionable, but different than the usual that I pick up in the stores this time of year.

katie mack biscottiThese are a few trendy and ultra-cute outfits that could work for the holidays that I found on the Biscotti and Kate Mack website. I thought they’d be great for the holidays, but some of the pieces could also be used for other non-holiday events because of how they’re pretty neutrally colored. I’m a big fan of getting the most for my money. This rarely ever happens with their usual holiday dresses.

kate mack 2The website has non-holiday pieces, as well, and the clothing runs from sizes 2 to 16.  It looks like there’s some good clearance going on… up to 40% off! If you sign up for their email list, you get an additional 10% off your first purchase.

Here are their links if you want to say hello!

Zest Fruitboost Review, Coupon and #Giveaway! #ZestFruitBoost

Zest Fruitboost #Giveaway #ZestFruitboost

My favorite types of blog posts to write are the ones where my girls get to assist me because they seem to enjoy testing products so much (it’s fun and important!), so the three of us were pretty happy when we found out we’d be going to our local WalMart to check out Zest’s new Fruitboost Shower Gels that just launched!

walmart

Wow, I just noticed that the “A’s” in the Walmart sign are filled in and not hollowed out! I imagine it’s because of the tendency birds have to build nests in them.

ANYWAY, we were happy to find that Walmart had all three fragrances of the Zest Fruitboost Revitalizing Shower Gels in stock:

Zest Fruitboost #giveaway

I thought the price point was really decent (YMMV, but the above was the price at my particular Walmart), so we scooped up all three:

  • Very Berry
  • Peach Mango
  • Citrus Splash

Since Delia was busy with a school project all week, Charlotte tested out the 3 varieties of the Zest FruitBoosts herself.  Then I left it up to her to educate Delia all about her Zest experience in this video! She also reveals which fragrance was her favorite! (Ignore me being a mom and brushing her bangs out of her face.  We’re trying to grow them out and they’re at that annoying stage)

There’s a valuable $1 off New Zest Fruitboost Shower Gel that you can use at Walmart! You can print it from Zest’s website here.

In conclusion, we had a great Walmart shopping experience and we thought the Zest Fruitboosts did a great job of cleaning! The fragrances and bright packaging were really fun for the girls.

Birchbox November 2015 Subscription Box Review + Coupon Code

Birchbox November 2015

Birchbox is a subscription box service where you receive 4-6 beauty and lifestyle samples delivered to your mailbox every month. Boxes usually consist of samples, deluxe samples, and sometimes full-sized products. (To view my past Birchbox reviews, click here.)

Birchbox November 2015 Box

One of the perks of being a Birchbox subscriber is their awesome reward point system (which in my opinion, puts them in a higher league than many subscription box services). Every 100 points you receive equals $10 you can spend in the Birchbox shop on full-sized products. Points expire within a year being issued, so you can save them up, but you can’t hoard them forever!

Birchbox 2015 november

There are a several ways to receive Birchbox Points. You can receive them from referring friends to join Birchbox, for shopping in the Birchbox store and sometimes they’ll pop you a surprise special promo codes to receive even more points for shopping during a specific time-frame. One super easy way to receive reward points is to review the samples you receive in your Birchbox. For each review you submit, you receive 10 Birchbox points. So, for instance, I received 5 products this month. That is 50 points I’ll be receiving just for reviews which equals $5. So as you can see, they’re really easy to accumulate.

Easiest Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe

Jennie-o Oven Ready Turkey

Omg! This big freaking turkey just got dropped off at my door!  From time-to-time I’ll cook with Jennie-O products that they send, but I wasn’t expecting this!

The reason I’m mostly excited is because, quite frankly, I don’t have a lot of time these days. I’m single parenting it, so many times when I have a recipe that calls for thawing something out before cooking, time gets away from me and I forget. But this Jennie-O Oven Ready Whole Turkey goes straight from the freezer to the oven, no thawing needed.

Here’s the exact recipe that I’m going to use, most likely.  I pulled it from the Jennie-O’s site:

Easiest Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe-- no thawing needed!

Easiest Thanksgiving Turkey Recipe-- No Thawing Needed!

Ingredients
  • 1 (11-13 pound) JENNIE-O® OVEN READY™ Whole Turkey
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. From frozen, cook turkey as specified on the package. Always cook turkey to well done, 165°F in the breast and 180°F in the thigh, as measured by a meat thermometer.
  3. In small saucepan melt butter; add lemon peel, garlic and rosemary. Cook over medium-low heat 2 to 3 minutes or until fragrant.
  4. Cut slit in bag and brush with butter mixture. Bake additional 5 minutes. Let turkey stand 20 minutes before carving.

How do you usually prepare your Thanksgiving turkey?

Try the World Holiday Box 2015 + Coupon Code for a FREE Box!

Try the World 2015 Holiday BoxIt’s hard to believe it’s the season to be reviewing holiday themed boxes, but here we are!

Stay tuned! At the bottom of this post, I talk about how to score a FREE Try the World Box!

Try the World Holiday Box 2015

One of my favorite things about traveling is sampling the local cuisine which is the idea behind Try the World— a bi-monthly subscription box service I’ve been enjoying so much this year! Their team of travelers and local experts curate each box with products they feel best represent that box’s location theme. I haven’t traveled anywhere in awhile, so this way I can get a little of what I’ve been missing delivered right to my house. (You can read my other Try the World reviews here)

Try the World Holiday Box Culture Guide

Try the World comes with a Culture Guide, detailing the products in the box. Usually each Try the World box has a specific theme like Paris or Spain. This month, it’s the Holiday Box filled with an assortment of goodies from around the world.

Try the World Holiday Box First Look

My Try the World boxes are noticeably heavier than most of my other subscription boxes which, and I’m not sure why, make them seem more fun to open!

Truffette de France Chocolate Truffles

Truffette de France Chocolate Truffles These are chocolate truffles that began production in France, and expanded to Quebec.  Seriously, melt in my mouth chocolatey goodness, omg! I ate them on their own, but it could be paired well with Ice Cream I think. The guide says they go well with Cognac, too!

Sindyanna of Galilee Extra-Virgin Olive Oil

Sindyanna of Galilee Extra-Virgin Olive Oil I love receiving olive oil in these boxes! This is a fair trade oil grown, harvested, and cold pressed by a cooperative of Arab and Jewish women in northern Israel.  In the culture guide, there’s a cake recipe using this as an ingredient.

Cookies Orientines

Palmiers Butter Cookies These cookies are made by a small Moroccan company.  They are really subtle and I think they’re pair well with a cup of tea.

Teatonics Ruby-Red Restorative Winter Calming Tea

Teatonics Ruby-Red Restorative Winter Calming Tea Well, speaking of, here’s some tea in the box! From the UK, this is made with a blend of red and green rooibos, hibiscus, cocoa, vanilla, and licorice.  I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or not, but the packaging colors look perfect enough to be a stocking-stuffer. :)

Nyakers Gingersnaps

Nyakers Gingersnaps Orange– These are part of a holiday tradition in Sweden on December 13th, St Lucia’s Day, which is a holiday that commemorates the girl who brought food to persecuted Christians in Rome. These Gingersnaps have an orange twist which tastes unusual and good! The culture guide says these pair well with mulled wine.

Bazzar Acai Dessert Sauce

Bazzar Acai Dessert Sauce From Brazil, this sauce says on the jar that it’s good for ice cream and yogurt. In the culture guide, it says it would be great glazed over poultry. I think glazing a turkey with this would be awesome! Also, it says it’s delicious over pancakes.

G. Cova & C Panettone

G. Cova & C Panettone Milano This is a cute little package of Italian sweet bread that would also go well in a stocking-stuffer. It’s made according to an age-old time-consuming process of soaking, leavening, and baking so it tastes homemade.

Biokia Mixed BerriesBiokia Mixed Berries This is a blend of wild and little-known berries from Finland such as bilberries and lingonberries. They are frozen and dried soon after being harvested. I actually used them to make some muffins!  See? :)

Dried Mixed-Berry Muffins

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick Review #YSLRougePurCouture

A couple months ago, I qualified for a Yves Saint Laurent VoxBox from Influenster which put me in the running to receive ANOTHER YSL VoxBox! I couldn’t believe it!

YSL Box

Inside my Influenster YSL Rouge Pur Couture VoxBox were two Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks. These are revamped satin lipsticks from YSL’s iconic Rouge Pur Couture lip color line:

YSL lipstickI received:

  • Color #9: Rose Stiletto (ARV $36)
  • Color #19: Fuchsia (ARV $36)

My personal preference for applying lipstick  is to dab a brush on the tube, then paint on my lips, rather than applying it straight from the tube because I find I can better control the application.  Applying with a brush allows me to build the consistency  better, as well helps to control the intensity of the shade.

I’m a neutral lip girl, so I enjoyed the rose shade the most. It has a rich application, and I think it’s a flattering shade for a wide variety of skin tones. The texture is satiny and the lasting power was not quite like a lip stain’s staying power, but probably longer than any lipstick I’ve ever tried, so I was really satisfied!

Here’s Cara Delevingne for Yves Saint Laurent ROUGE PUR COUTURE Lipstick :

To check out YSL’s website you can go here.  To purchase Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Lipsticks, I recommend Sephora!

Influenster Kérastase VoxBox Review #KerastaseTransforms

I was so thrilled to hit another hot VoxBox from Influenster— a hair care box featuring the brand Kérastase this time!  When I took the qualifier survey and then the follow-up email to let me know I qualified, I eagerly anticipated its arrival! Taking care of my hair is important to me, so I was excited to try some luxry products on it!

Kerastase Bain Therapiste #KerastaseTransforms

To see more of my Influenster campaigns I’ve blogged about, click here.

Kerastase Bain Therapiste #KerastaseTransformsI have to say that Influenster has REALLY stepped up their game since I first signed up with them. Kérastase is a luxury haircare line.  I received two products from their Kérastase Resistance Thérapiste line which work to repair hair.

Kérastase Resistance Soin Premier Thérapiste ($42) is unique because it’s a conditioner that you actually use BEFORE you shampoo to help protect the hair.  You leave on for 1-2 minutes, then rinse and apply…

Kérastase Resistance Bain Thérapiste Shampoo ($40).  First you work the product with your hands, and then comb it through hair and then massage into a nice gentle lather and rinse immediately.

Both of these products help repair very damaged hair fibers.

Conclusion:

Although it’s a luxury line, I was a little skeptical at first because I’ve never used a conditioner BEFORE shampoo.  I thought, for sure, I’d have to comb through some leave-in conditioner after I was finished washing my hair, but this wasn’t the case. Both products combined leave my hair feeling super smooth and soft.  I heat dry and color my hair, but I feel my hair takes on a healthier appearance when I use these.

Kérastase #KerastaseTransforms

Wow, look at me!  I rarely ever take a selfie where I’m not smiling!  But anyway, this is my hair after using these products. I normally have frizzy and curly hair that I style straight with a round brush and blow dryer.

FAVORITE PART:  The fragrance which, to me, smells of a field of clover!

Have you tried any Kérastase products?
